Work #6
I actually wasn't that tired today, even after work, and on top of that, I actually accomplished something of significance after work, which hasn't happened any other day. I'm going to go back to yesterday first though.
They are doing construction on the roads through Western University, and as a result the buses have to take a detour through different routes, which also results in the northbound and southbound 13 Wellington's going the same way, and as I was waiting for the bus, the sign in the window had the southbound destination, so I got on, but it ended up going to Masonville, and it due to it being rush hour, and the construction at Western, I got off work and on the bus around 3pm, and I didn't get home until around 5:30pm. That's a long time on the fucking bus. I just listened to music the whole time, and it was the day I was really tired, so I kept having that... eyes are closing, head is dropping thing going on, where I'd keep falling asleep. Can't blame me though... On top of that whole thing, the laundry got messed up, I burned my supper because I fell asleep and all of that added up made for a pretty weirdly stupid post-work day.
I actually got a pretty good sleep that night, I watched Ghost World and then fell asleep after almost right away, and slept pretty consistently to when the alarm went off. It made a pretty big difference it seems... the night before I slept horribly, and couldn't stay awake by the time I got home from work, but today I had energy and felt okay.
I've been thinking a lot recently about budgeting... I'm going to be having significant amounts of money for the first time in years, and as before, I want to be in good control of it, know where it's going and exactly how much I need. Previously I have used paper, and Microsoft Money, but this time I wanted to make myself something so that it did exactly what I wanted. A way to keep track of my monthly/bi-weekly expenses, a way to see how many hours or shifts I need to work at my job to break even or reach a specific savings goal, a way to keep track of all the money I spend and where and what I spend it on, and a way to keep track of my hours worked, and money received through paycheques or other stuff. Those are my initial goals for the project, most of which are either already done or will be done on the weekend, assuming I have the weekend off. The best part is that I can add features in the future if I need something different, or I can add features if friends (Ally, Michelle.. others) need something specific. I worked on it today finally, and accomplished a lot of the basic functionality I wanted, so it's a good start. I plan on working on it more on the weekend.
So that's what I did today... no 2moons since Ben isn't on, and I watched a bit of The Simpsons when I had a small supper. I'm going to enjoy a bowl of strawberries now, and besides that, I've got to think about finding something to do to relax and then go to sleep pretty soon. My nights almost over and it feels like it just started.. darn.
