God Where Are You
I was creative yesterday, I created something. I made something out of nothing and now there is something. It feels great to be honest, and maybe that's why I feel bored today, because all day yesterday I had my mind in a creative mode, problem solving and thinking through logic, and today it's all done and so I'm left wanting more, but having nothing to do.
Anyway, yesterday I created a website for my close friends to use for competition. What kind of competition you ask? The awesome kind. At it's core, it's a tool for Ben and I took keep track of high scores for different games, where we input our scores (with the game and difficulty we played on) and it will display a top ten chart, showing us the ranks. What it really is, is a few things. A motivational tool, to get us to play games we wouldn't normally play for more than a minute. A way to 'play together' in games where we wouldn't normally have the time or opportunity to do so, and finally, a way to compete with each other without having to have the same chunk of time free, so we can just play when it's convenient.
The basic idea behind the competition aspect, is that we'll pick one or two games each week, probably one of them will be one we have in mind, and the second will be randomly selected. Then we'll quickly take a look at the games and see how their set up (shooter, fighter, etc) and then decide on a set of rules (what difficulty) and then for that week, we'll both play the games when we can, keep track of our high scores at game over and then input the scores into the website and at the end of the week, see who won by looking at the top ten ranks. After that week is over and we've picked a new game or two, the option is still there to go back and set high scores for any game we've previously played.
It should be a lot of fun.
I woke up today pretty early at 8am and couldn't get back to sleep, so I played a little bit of Streets of Rage 3, and eventually Michelle woke up and left to go somewhere (she didn't tell me she was getting up early or going anywhere) and then I played a bit of Contra 3, went and bought cat food and lunch at the store, and since then I've been pretty bored.
I keep checking the phone for messages from places I apply too.. but...
Anyway... I'll probably do the dishes soon, then wait for it to be supper time.
Oh yeah, just for the record, Mark bought Guitar Hero 80's for us a few days ago, and we beat it in the first day. It's alright, but a bit easy.
