Dirty Pickle Chip

Today was rather stressful, at least the first half of it was, and that was mainly the work portion, afterward was okay, enjoyable even, and I managed to cheer myself up quickly.

I worked 9am to 5pm, and going in to find that nothing was done for the buffet, and no one was really going to be helping, so not only did I have to get all the normal stuff ready for the buffet but there were no salads made, so I had to spend a substantial amount of time making salads from scratch. It was time consuming and I barely got everything ready in time; I suppose you could say it was stressful.

After lunch was finally out, things calmed down a bit and Jon arrived... gave us some time to prep the dinner at night, plus move on to getting things ready for the next day. Nothing too noteworthy to talk about really, just that the second half of work was much more calm, although I started to get a giant headache, so I drank a bunch of water and took some pills... it didn't get rid of it, but it kept it weak enough that it didn't bother me too much.

I got a ride home at 5:30pm with Julie, where we stopped at my house and I gave her all her DVD's back (like a stack of twenty or something) and then she drove me to No Frills where I picked up some breakfast food (bread and bagels, cream cheese, coffee, and so on) and walked home.

I watched some episodes of Penny-Arcade: The Fourth Panel as I slowly got dinner ready... I had to wait, or well.. wanted to wait for Bekki to arrive at around 8:00pm, and since it was already 6pm or so, I just wasted some time watching shows and listening to music, slowly getting stuff ready, cleaning one of the beef tenderloin's I bought yesterday. It was relaxing and put me in a better mood. My headache seemed to go away as well, so that's a bonus... yeah, I'm gonna leave that as a sentence fragment, so what?

After dinner we watched the first episode of Game of Thrones season one because Bekki hadn't seen it, but she had read the books, so it seemed like a fun idea.

I work tomorrow at 1pm, but Bekki leaves for home (far away) tomorrow at 5am, for six days, so this is our last night together for awhile, so it'll be sad goodbyes in the morning, but it's kind of nice to have something to feel that way about. So I'll be going to sleep soon, waking up briefly to say goodbye, and then going back to sleep until I have to wake up. Tomorrow should be... stressful, as it's just Allen and myself to get out a buffet and then a plated for 100 people. I know it'll go okay, but it will be stressful ensuring that it goes smoothly. I'll just pretend I'm in a happy place... but that will be difficult because I have to close and then open on Sunday, so it's difficult to stay cheerful when I have that in mind.
