Just Another Day

Today was pretty much ordinary. Nothing amazing happened (other than I got to spend time with Linzie) but guess what? I'll write about it anyway just because I hate you.

I got up around 7:10 and got dressed (I wore my Sick of It All shirt and my jeans) and ate breakfast (a bagel and cream cheese... philidelphia no less not to mention a tall glass of high quality orange juice!). After that I waited until Linzie came over and then we left for school.

First period was pretty boring just because I took the course before (back when it was a different code in the old cirriculum.. now it has a new code so I'll get another credit.. but I know everything already) so we just copied down what we're going to be studying (ancient civilizations.. starting at Evolution and going to the recent Far East).

Second period consisted of me sitting with Aaron for fifteen minutes before we even did anything... and then our class moved upstairs back to Mr. G's old class (and it still has the Romones poster!) and we took one note and that's it. It was a bit more interested because we chatted for a bit about hardware and shizat.

At lunch Linzie and I met at our locker (oh yeah we've got a working locker now! I don't know the combo!) and we went to my house (gee golly that's unpredictable) and had Macaroni and Cheese master's choice style yo. It was good... we both actually ate it all!

Third period started and then we went down for an assembly (only grade 11 classes) so I just sat with Adam and talked and made fun of the principle as she talked. I bit lower (about one paragraph) I'll talk more about this assembly in a journal I wrote for Writers Craft (fourth period).

Fourth period I read Jonathon Livingston Seagull and wrote a journal about the assembly. Other than that not much. I had to pick four people and write three words to describe each of them... that was it. Here is the journal I wrote for the class it's about the assembly I was forced to go to:

So there I was sitting in the auditorium minding my own business actually paying a fair amount of attention when all of a sudden the student body is being forced to eat school spirit. I'm not quite sure why... I'm assuming it's some pathetic attempt at reviving some soft of school pride within the students but I really don't see a forty year old school song doing anything positive for the school.

When it got to the point where the students were instructed to stand up and sing I having no desire to stand or sing logically stayed seated. I mean I'm not going to fake school spirit... that would just be downright deceptive. Anyway after a few seconds of me sitting (comfortably mind you) a teacher came over and threatended me with a detention if I didn't stand. School spirit through force and threats? Give me a break. If anything this would lead me to despising this place more.

I really think they're going about this the wrong way. School spirit or better yet pride itself grows naturally and over time. These things can't be pushed and forced on you especally with threats that will only cause the opposite of the desired effect. Oh well they'll give up soon enough.

And that's my amazing story filled with nothing but negative thoughts. Booya! Next time it will be positive! Really...

After school Linzie and I bought some Crispers and Cokes and then chillaxed. I fell asleep at some point until 7:30 and then at 8:30 we went and got McDonalds for supper. Then we chillaxed some more and then she went home at her regular time of 11:00pm.

That's my story for today!! Now I'll be going to watch Conan because it's gonna be really funny tonight (About Triumph at the MTV VMA's). Goodnight!
