Excessive

I am sunburned, uncomfortable, have a headache and am unbelievably tired. Overall feeling okay.

The story of the pool goes back to last year - August 2021 - Bekki and I went on a trip to Niagara wine region and while we were gone, a pool toy got clogged in the skimmer intake, and stopped the water from filtering. As a result, the water started turning green, and was obviously not doing well. I left it to Bekki to try to fix it, and I think I remember there was a bit of a rush as we were having the Nelson BBQ soon. We dumped some random chemicals in and nothing helped. We tried for weeks, but nothing fixed it.

Maybe I stopped writing because my life is so boring hah.

Today was pretty standard. Woke up, had breakfast, made Jensen's lunch, walked Oliver to daycare, walked Jensen to school, and worked. 

Today is my 9th wedding anniversary, crazy that's it's been nine years now, it really doesn't feel that way.

Pretty normal day today, but I did wake up with a migraine. Most likely due to tasting wine - generally an issue with inexpensive wines, typically higher sugar content, tends to lead to migraines even without drinking too much. I took a migraine pill after breakfast and it cleared up before lunch.

Alright so maybe it's too late, maybe it's too late at night and I can't keep this up. Maybe my routine isn't working out, but it's hard to say for sure. Bekki told me to stop going to bed so late cause I'm always tired, but I have issues changing routine, especially after I've set my mind on it. It sucks because if the routine gets pushed back, it has a pretty big impact on all aspects of it.

This morning was pretty much you're normal morning, although I did sleep in. Yes, I didn't open my eyes until a quite late 8:00am. I did have trouble going to sleep last night, I had decided to write on here, and figured I couldn't very well play games while doing it, so I sat down, put on the first episode of Star Trek: TNG and wrote, but as I'm sure you know, the first episode of TNG is a double, so it was quite long. I needed the time for sure, as I had a pretty hard time getting back into the flow of writing. While I do still "think" in terms of writing quite a bit, it's nothing like it used to be. I decided to rewatch TNG due to a recommendation from Ben for a podcast that follows the series, where after you watch each episode, you can listen to a podcast episode that comments on the episode. It's a fun and interesting way to rewatch a series I've watch many times over, which gives it some new life. Okay, so I was talking about waking up and went on a tangent, but that's okay. I got up late, I try to wake up at 7:00am, the kids try to get me up at 7:00am, and I'd say I usually get up by around 7:15am, which is when my fitbit vibration alarm goes off. This morning I got out of bed at 8:00am.

After a five year absence of writing, I’ve decided to make my return to recording my boring day to day experiences, because using it as kind of history book has too much value to me to just let this die. So much has happened and changed in the last five years that it would be impossible to do a complete catch-up style entry, so instead I’ll pass on that, and just give a brief overview, with other details emerging organically as I continue writing into the future.

It's been a year.

My son, Jensen Grieve is now a year old (well, that was yesterday) and today was his big party.

I'm sure I've told the story before but it has consistently popped into my head my entire life.

I was probably somewhere between 9 and 11 years old or so, and I was riding the subway in Toronto with my Dad. I remember doing some thinking, as a 9 year old would, and I remember asking him, "Do you ever wonder what it's like to see through someone else's eyes?"

We've renewed our Final Fantasy XIV subscription, a new World of Warcraft expansion comes out tomorrow night, our baby is arriving sometime in the next couple weeks, and things seem to be moving very quickly when previously it felt like life was standing still.

The Baby is almost here, the next WoW expansion is almost here, Bekki is almost done schooling for good (right?).
