Another Fever Dream

Wow, it's kinda early to be writing don't you think? Yeah... I suppose it is. It's difficult to form sentences and actually think about what I'd write at such an early hour in the morning, but since I'm unlucky enough to have woken up over an hour and a half ago, I've had some time to watch That 70's Show and wake up.

Mark and I had a lazy day yesterday, even though I applied for two more jobs, we both pretty much went between playing games and sitting at the computer, back and forth all day, which was fine considering it was a Saturday and there really wasn't anything else to do. Mark's beat Puzzle Quest but is continuing to play the side quests and optional aspects of the game, and I played some Guitar Hero but mainly focused on Pokemon. I spent a lot of time yesterday trying to reach my goal of filling all 150 slots on the Pokedex, which by the time Michelle came home I had achieved (by catching a female Burmy and evolving it to get the last entry in the Pokedex). By getting all 150 Pokedex entries, I could go visit the Professor, and that triggered an event where Prof. Oak from the first games came and gave me a new invention called the National Pokedex, which has a spot for all 498 Pokemon, and by getting that National Dex, quite a few new areas in the game opened up where I can catch Pokemon I couldn't before, as well as new Pokemon showing up in previously visited areas, and new legendary or hidden Pokemon showing up during special game events. So now that I've both beat the game and filled the Pokedex, I can attempt to fill the new National Dex that's four times the size, as well as track down and catch the new Pokemon, and level up and evolve the Pokemon I already have, so I've got tons and tons ahead of me, and I'm already at 118 hours. I wouldn't mind buying Pokemon Emerald for GBA, since I could play through that game and then transfer my Pokemon over to Pearl, but I don't think it's in the budget at the moment.

I'm pretty sure today is a shopping day. We're pretty much completely out of food (just some tomatoes left, but no veggies, bread, meat or anything else), so I'm pretty sure we're going to go to Argyle, since Michelle is going to buy me a birthday present (100 pack of blank DVDs so I can clear of the 2006/2007 TV season off my external, and there's a Wal-Mart and No Frills there. I originally didn't want to get the blank DVDs at Wal-Mart since usually it's shitty Memorex that's on sale, and I hate Memorex, but it's just the easiest so I don't really have a choice. I need to make a list of groceries... I basically have to fill the cupboards starting from scratch but only have $50 to spend, so I've got to work a miracle and figure it out.

Michelle and I have been playing Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles on a nightly basis, and I have to say that I'm enjoying it about twice as much as when I first bought the game. Back when I first bought it, I tried playing through it in single player mode, and I tried to play through it with Linzie using my GBA and GBASP, but it just never clicked, I never understood the mechanics or the reasoning behind any of it, but there's just something different now... I just get it. I find it addictive, especially collecting the artifacts and items, I find the team work fun and refreshing as you rarely see games that actually reward team work, and I guess I just understand the ideas and before I didn't. I remember being confused by the save/load system, and didn't realize you could load a two player save, and continue it in single player mode, save over it as a single player game, and then continue that same game again later as a multi-player game. Basically that means that when Michelle is sleeping or doesn't feel like playing, I can load our game, and play my character and replay areas we've already beaten to collect more artifacts to improve my character, and then save my progress and continue again when Michelle is ready to play. Anyway, my dream is to play it four player sometime, but buying two more GBAs isn't realistic right now, and I don't know anyone else who owns one. It would be so much fun though, like if Ally and Darcy or Mark could join in and we could really get into it.

I woke up with a bad headache, kinda like the one I went to sleep with, and the one I had all day yesterday, and went to sleep with the night before too; that's why I couldn't go back to sleep when I woke up at 8am this morning, because my head hurt so much. I got up and took two Tylenol's and had a snack and watched That 70's Show and played Pokemon, and by the time I started to feel a bit better, I was wide awake and having fun watching TV and playing DS, so I said screw it. I can already feel my eyelids getting heavy and it's already 10am, but I guess it's too late to nap now, especially when there are plans to go out today. I suppose I should just tough it out and be tired, and then go to sleep early tonight. That's probably the best idea anyway, so that's what I'll strive for.

I can't remember if my Mom was going to Hamilton today, or yesterday. I also don't remember if I talked to her yesterday at all or not... hmmm. She's not on Skype, so there's a good chance she went today. I'll just email her I guess, intead of waiting for her to come on Skype. I'm pretty sure I have the worst memory ever.

I'll probably watch another episode of That 70's Show and play some more Pokemon and then maybe move to the living room and play a little bit of Crystal Chronicles and grab another artifact. Mark and Michelle are both still sleeping so my options are limited, but that sounds like a pretty decent plan.
