Still Empty
Work made me very tired today, more than normal. I was pretty much dead tired, and sore by the time my shift was over, and I've pretty much felt like crap since.
As per normal Sunday mornings, I woke up at around 6:15am, which gives me roughly thirty minutes to eat breakfast and get ready to leave, but this morning didn't go exactly as planned, as 6:45am rolled around and there was no car outside the house, as there should be. Each Sunday, a checker comes to the houes at 6:45am, without me having to call, it's just set up to automatically come, and usually arrives ten minutes early, but there was no car this morning. I called, and last Sunday when I got a ride with Julie, and called Checker to tell them I wouldn't be needing a car, they cancelled the whole set up, rather than just cancelling that days ride.
So I called, and made them send a car, and it arrived pretty quickly, so I wasn't late or anything. It was pretty easy getting the continental out on time, there were bacon rolls, and I had done the bakery the night before, so the first hour was very easy. Sadly, the next two hours weren't quite as easy, as very little prep was done for brunch. It was no ones fault beyond Windermere's in general, as we don't have the staff, considering I worked all day yesterday to get a wedding ready and had no time to do brunch, and there is really no one else to do it, so I'm kinda fucked if there is an event on Saturday. I ran around, got most of the prep done, at 10am, when it was all supposed to be out, the only things left to do that went a bit late was the mousse and strawberries. It wasn't the easiest brunch for sure, but it wasn't the worst either.
After brunch was out, there was a second brunch-ish type buffet happening an hour after brunch went out, so I had to get all that crap ready too, while replenishing brunch at the same time, but it wasn't too much work really, it was generally pretty relaxed.
After that event was out and done with, the rest of the afternoon was spent getting the breakfast cart ready, and Kyle cleaned out fridges, and that's pretty much how the day went.
I got home pretty late because it takes fucking forever to get home on a Sunday. I caught a bus downtown, but once I got downtown it was a 45 minute wait for the bus, so I called a cab and just drove home, because there's no way I'm waiting downtown for that long.
Once home, I ate a microwaveable lasagna, had a chocolate bar and coffee, and then went and laid down and went to sleep for an hour or two... I guess I was really tired, I fell asleep right away.
After my nap, I played Uncharted 2, and actually finished the last two chapters of the game and beat it! Even though there were a few frustrating encounters near the end of the game, overall the experience was above average, very enjoyable, and the story, acting and feel of the game were outstanding. I can't wait for the next Uncharted to continue with another story.
After Uncharted, I played a little bit of Final Fantasy 4, and turned on Inception, mainly because I was/am in a weird mood and just felt like watching something on TV without having to think or feel anything.
I hope that my day off tomorrow is a good day. I hope that I can enjoy it, feel good, feel relaxed, and just have a good day; I really hope so.
