An Emptiness In My Heart

And I memorized the way our legs entwined as I drifted off beside you
I memorized how warm your body felt
as you lay half asleep beside me
And I memorized the way the sunlight
filled the room and played upon your body

Today was a good day I suppose... looking back on it, it seems pretty good, and that's something to appreciate. Things went smoothly, although the kitchen was a bit messy for my liking, a bit chaotic (although I wasn't really involved in the chaos).

Taking the bus to work in the cold, mother fuckin' cold morning wasn't the most enjoyable thing in the world, and by the time I got to work, my feet, hands and face were pretty much numb. I'm not sure where I'm going with this... I can already tell by this point that I'm not going to be able to write anything worth reading tonight, but I mean, can't write award winning entries every night.

Work was basically just Jon and myself doing a lunch and a dinner buffet, and we had everything ready and taken care of so early, and it was so organized, it was pretty awesome. I made mashed potatoes, bowled a bunch of my salads, stuffed some chickens with butternut and arugula (for the cafe) and cut up a bunch of cheese for platters (for the cafe as well). I can't really remember the rest of the stuff I did, it all kind of blends together, but Jon and I were really happy with the food we made, as it was all pretty original and creative, and everything turned out well, stuff that we could be proud of.

It was nice to see Bekki at work... I mean, obviously I see her at work at regular intervals, but I mean recently we've become quite close, and it's just nice. To share a glance, to partake in our inside jokes (oh boy, brapbrap), and just have a warm, friendly presence in a normally... less warm and friendly place.. shut up, I'm a good writer, I swear.

Jon drove me home from work around 8:45pm or so... once home I had a snack and watched some TV... bad TV if I remember correctly, but I've run out of recorded things to watch, and TV sucks, so I couldn't find anything. I sat around for a bit, not really doing anything of note, just texting and watching tv, and eventually I figured it'd be nice to have a bath, so that's what I did. After my bath, I put on The Dark Night, as it had been awhile since I've watched it, and it was recently mentioned on TV at some point and it made me interesting in watching it again.

As I was watching the movie (well, I still am), I programmed a bit.. worked on that budgetting/expense report/analyzer website I wanted to make. I made a bit of progress, and completed the functionality involved in uploading a bank's transaction record file, analyzing it, inserting the records into the database if they don't already exist and completing the process. So.. that was fun... right?

I'll go to bed soon I'm sure, I've almost run out of things to do. I'll probably finish the movie and head to bed... I work tomorrow at 12pm again, but should be a pretty easy day, or night.. whatever you want to call it. I work at 7am on Sunday, so hopefully I don't have to stay late, and I can actually get some sleep.

I think I'm going to try one of my personal challenge things I mentioned the other night (or was the yesterday?). I won't say what, for fear of embarrassment in failure, or even in undertaking it, but I'll let you know what happens after I fail or succeed haha.
