Why Write

It seems lately I've been writing the same crap here every day but I can't help it, I just write what I feel, and if it's generally the same, then I guess that kind of makes sense.

Today was a day that could've been awesome, and there were certainly parts that were cool, and enjoyable, but it seemed to all be wasted, any good energy or feelings were erased in the late afternoon while I napped, leaving me feel drained and off.

I was startled awake this morning by a phone call.. heart pounding, as I shot out of my bed, I instantly felt a loud and shocking headache pounding at my head as I made my way to the computer room to pick up my phone. It was Julie, calling me to tell me she'd give me a ride. She had sent me multiple texts in the morning, from 6am up to 8:00am, 8:00am being the time she finally called and I woke up startled. I had the alarm set for 8:15am, as that's my normal time I wake up when I take a cab to work. I had asked Julie if she could give me a ride the night before but she avoided the question and wouldn't answer, so I decided to take the risk and just cab if she couldn't, so that's how I decided what time to wake up. Anyway, I was up, I felt like garbage because of my head, and also because of the way I woke up, heart pounding and all, it just wasn't the best way to wake up, and perhaps set the tone for the day.

Once to work, we just had one lunch in the grand hall for around sixty people, and it was easy enough to get ready. I had to carve, so after I had everything ready, I got my knife and tongs and went out and stood there for probably a half an hour, slicing beef for old men who wanted to eat. It's boring, and talking to people is less than ideal, but only if you think about it. It's easy enough to simply go out there and be a zombie, and not have anything register as actually happening. Once lunch was over, I went back in and made a blue cheese salad dressing and cleaned the fridge... by 2:00pm it was obvious there wasn't much else to do, and I signed out for 2:15pm.

Julie had to stay until 5pm to attend a honey beef tasting thing in the cafe, but she had to pick up something from the post office (and didn't want to be at work) so she gave me a ride home, but I went to the post office with her, and while she was there, I went in the used book store in the same plaza. I browsed through everything, and while it was slightly unorganized and difficult to search for specific things, the books were very inexpensive, and they had a lot of books to choose from in the science fiction and fantasy section. Having read a little bit about the Wheel of Time series of books, and hearing good things about them over the years, I saw they had a bunch of books from the series, so I figured out which were the first two, and picked those up for $4.50 each, each book being about 800 pages or so. I probably won't get to reading them until after my Song of Ice and Fire books but it's nice to have them, and I look forward to exploring a new world in my mind. We also stopped and got a couple tall boys and enjoyed them in the car when we got to the plaza, cause... that's classy, right?

Once home... I don't really remember much. I had a snack, and almost right away just went and laid down, falling asleep instantly. My head still hurt, worse than it had at work, and I'm sure the beer didn't help. It was about 4:00pm when I laid down, and I slept straight through, uninterrupted until 7:30pm when I was startled awake again, heart pounding, to another phone call. This time it was Bekki. I woke up, head still pounding, disappointed I had missed my chance to eat a normal dinner, feeling off, irritable due to the way I was woken up, or perhaps just because I had woke up in general, and I just felt bad, felt like I was in a bad mood, felt like I was uncomfortable physically. Essentially I got off work early on a beautiful day, and ended up sleeping in bed the entire time the sun was up, with a headache... how disappointing.

I got up and ordered pizza... I was hungry but it was too late to cook, and it seemed like a good idea at the time. I read some of my book and watched some TV... nothing exciting. Bekki came over around 9:00pm and we watched a couple episodes of Game of Thrones, and afterward I played a bunch of SSX and had a bunch of fun. Bekki laid down and read some of Clash of Kings and I had a bath... she went to sleep, and I put on Jimmy Fallon and started to write, leading me to right now. I'm going to read a couple chapters and then lay down and try to sleep. I'm not that tired because of my long nap, but I'm going to be tired tomorrow if I don't sleep soon, so I better try.

Tomorrow is a day off, and I will do my typical day off type stuff, so no need to explain.
