You Sunk My Sink Destroyer

This is a bit different. This is something that I haven't really experienced. I am currently sitting, writing this, in front of ocean water, listening to the sounds of small waves roll in, with a nice breeze running over my legs and arms. This is relaxing, and I don't have to think about anything, or worry, or fear anything. This is relaxation and it's wonderful.

Where to start? I'm not even sure...

I worked on Sunday (that sounds familiar) but it went smoothly and everything was fine, and I left at 1pm, as soon as Al arrived (I didn't even see him, I just signed out and ran the hell out of the door. Bekki was waiting for me in the parking lot, so I hopped in and we got the hell out of the parking lot. Since I didn't eat breakfast, or lunch, and due to our traveling we weren't going to be able to eat any kind of real dinner, we decided to go through the Wendy's drive-through to get some lunch. I got a baconator and Brekkerson got a salad, and we ate once we got home.

Once home we ate and did a lot of nervous walking around, double and triple checking everything to ensure that we didn't forget anything, or leave anything in the house that may go bad, and things along those lines. We went over our lists and went over each other's lists and by 3:00pm we were ready to go, did the final check, pet the cats goodbye, got in the car and drove towards my Mom's.

We stopped in at Cherryhill Mall to go to the bank and take out some money just to have, and then drove up to my Mom's apartment and picked her up. From there we drove straight down Oxford to the airport (a place I had never been) and before I knew it there were planes all around me!

So I've never been to an airport before and didn't really have any idea what to expect or anything, so I guess you could say I went in without any expectations... and it was fine really. I was pretty nervous about the security checkpoint crap, because they make it seem like they are so careful and specific, so I was super anxious, and I was going to bring xanax and perscription sleeping pills, but they're not my perscriptions, so not only would the security officer take them but he would also call the police, so I decided not to pack any of that stuff... To continue the story, we got there, said goodbye to my Mom, she took a picture or two and was sad to see me go, but we went through the doors and we were on our way.

Inside we walked up to the security checkpoint and you are supposed to put all your electronics and stuff, but I was on one and a half xanax and pretty out of it, so I was a bit loopy... I talked to the guy, he was trying to be funny, but I was nervous as shit, and so I put my laptop out, my phone and my iPod, and that was it. My bags and what not went through the scanner, I walked through a metal detector, and picked up my stuff on the other side. They didn't check my pills, my bottles, my anything, I had a camera, a 3DS, multiple other things they say they check, and I just got let through, so ... I could've brought whatever I wanted. It felt great to get that over with, and was an immediate relief. We walked around the corner and grabbed a snack, a bag of chips and a Coke for me, and a bag of cheetos and a tea for the missus. We took our snacks to the seats near our gate, and sat and talked for the thirty minutes or so that we had to sit there waiting.

Our flight was called and we made our way to the gate with our flight pass thingy and our ID (you know, that thing I have now), and we made our way on board a small two seat, two columns of seats airplane. I had a window seat, and after a slight struggle to fit our giant backpacks in the overhead compartment, we settled in our seats, and tried to relax. I couldn't help but stare out the window, as for first time reasons, this is my first time flying. After a few minutes of waiting and whatever, the plane starting moving, making it's way to a runway, so probably about five minutes of slowly driving around and whatever, but then it hit the runway, and just speeds-the-fuck-up, you get pushed back in your seat a bit, and before you know it, you can feel yourself become weightless for a second, and you're in the air.

The flight to Toronto is about twenty minutes, and feels about that. You don't fly that high (around 9000 feet) but you are above the fluffy clouds, but you can still make out the fields and see cars and stuff. I didn't really do anything on the flight besides stare out the window and hold Bekki's hand, but that was about all stuff we had time for. Before I knew it, we were flying over the CN Tower and I could see lake Ontario, and we were landing at the Toronto airport. Inside the Toronto airport it was a lot more... uh.. busy. There was a lot more people and it seemed quite busy but I was messed on xanax so I certainly didn't care. We ran to the bathroom, and then found our gate and took a seat.

While we were sitting there, we decided that we were still hungry (due to not having any of the food stuff that makes you not hungry) so we took turns going to the little magazine/variety store and each bought something more to eat. Bekki got a Wunderbar and I got a bag of skittles, but I just had a bite of her chocolate and didn't open the Skittles until later on. The Toronto plane to Halifax was much bigger with two columns of two seats, plus a column of three seats in the middle, and I sat at a window again. Pretty much the same thing as the first plane, but this one had jets instead of propellers, and it went a lot faster. On the runway it just shot out so fast and we were off. This plane flew way higher, at 35000 feet, and you could just see clusters of orange lights on the ground, but right at the start it was still sunny and we flew over lake Ontario and I could see the coast on the states side... it was pretty cool.

The Toronto to Halifax flight took about two hours and Bekki and I spent the flight mostly doing our own thing, with Bekki watching episodes of Modern Family and I listened to an episode of the Morning Stream. About halfway through the flight we ordered glasses of white wine, because... well, because wine makes anything better, so we enjoyed those and felt pretty good for the rest of the flight. We landed at around 10:45pm, and found Bekki's Dad waiting for us at the entrance.

The drive home was pretty uneventful... we went to a drive-through right away to get some food. First trying a closed A&W, and then settling for McDonalds afterwards. The drive home takes about three hours, and Bekki and I fell asleep for a bit of it, and played Peggle... aaaand... yeah, I was pretty out of it, and when we pulled up to the house we kind of stumbled in and instantly fell asleep in bed.

To be continued... tomorrow! I'll write about what I did TODAY (Monday, August 27th) and maybe more!
