The Fallout Continues
I finished Fallout 4! Okay, well, I finished one of the main story lines. There are four ways to complete the story, three of which are almost all the same, just with a few details switched around, and one that is unique. I finished with one of the three similar ways, siding with the Railroad, and getting a satisfying ending to the main story.
There are tons of other quests and trophies to go for, but I felt myself drawn to Fallout 3...
Fallout 3 is a game I picked up when it first came out. Having played and enjoyed the first two Fallout games, it was an obvious choice to buy, but at the time I found the almost overwhelming openness of the game too much to deal with. It sounds silly, but open world games have always had that effect on me... too much choice paralyzes me; I'm a much more goal oriented person.
Even though I had given it a few tries, I didn't make it more than eight ours into the game, never finishing much of the main story line (I don't think I did anything beyond leaving the vault, I just got lost chasing side quests). The frustration of never having ammo, always being overburdened, and never quite feeling powerful, always kind of ruined it for me, and I was pulled away by other, more fun games.
Finishing Fallout 4 though, it insipired me to give it another shot, because I figured with my new experience in the Fallout world, with the lore and stories and characters, it would be really interesting to see the world from another perspective, and so I hooked up my 360 and started Fallout 3.
Yes, it's dated, and the graphics are a bit rough now (there was a time when I thought this looked really good??) but it's nice. I'm more interested, and have a plan. If anything, I'll force myself through the main story, and I want to play New Vegas afterward too! I am still interested in playing Fallout 4 though, and getting as many trophies as I can, so I'll try to alternate my playing. I find it's one of the only relaxing things lately. Sitting in my chair, with a blanket on, playing a game.
