i take it as an omen

somewhere sometime :: all things will be fine ::
and it never seems to stop :: wonder if i've met my wife ::
somewhere sometime :: all things will be fine ::
and it never seems enough :: splinter left :: focus right ::
this mortal soil around me :: mortal feeling i have found :: surrounded by your glory ::
hold me now so that i never drown :: and it never seems to stop :: wonder if i've met my wife ::
splinter left :: focus right :: focus right

Awhile ago, about a week now or something, I took my christmas money and bought a few games, mostly ones that I had been wanting (on my 'games to collect' list, which I STILL haven't added to my site *growl*) and I picked up The Bouncer, a game I had always, always seen and knew existed, knew it was made by Squaresoft, but had no idea what it was or what it was about... I loved the art, and anything that's made by Square, even if I don't know anything about it, causes great temptation within me to just pick it up. So four years after it was released, I finally picked it up (for $15 no less), with no real knowledge of what the game was about, just that it was made by Square and that's all I needed; naturally I also picked up a couple other games (more information at a later date most likely.. Return To Castle Wolfenstein (XBOX), Rainbow Six 3 (XBOX), SSX Tricky (XBOX), Animal Crossing (GC), Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door (GC), and more. I didn't get to The Bouncer today, as I was busy finishing Final Fantasy X-2, and viewing the ending movie where the Fayth brought Tidus's memories back together, and the pyreflies reacted, thus recreating Tidus, with all memories intact, as he wakes up in the beaches of Besaid (remember the movie at the end of FFX.. like RIGHT at the end.. where it shows Tidus unconcious underwater, he then comes too, looks around, and then swims at towards the surface, and as he reaches the surface (right at the camera) it fades to black.. yeah well, that was the end of X-2.. and him and Yuna ran and hugged and laughed and went to Zanarkand (the cliff) and talked.. and it was awesome.. *cough* um.. where was I? ah yes.. the Bouncer.

I've played a bit into the game and I think I'm far enough to write up a review, and I only got about half way through it during my bath tonight (because it was too hot) so I'm not going to post it yet.. but I can show you a bit of an excerpt from it:

...I take the Bouncer as a tribute to those SNES/Genesis era Final Fight style 2D fighters, but with great depth thrown in and, completely unlike those earlier games, the real focus of the game is on the epic, cinematic-like story, and the gameplay just seems like breaks in between. Almost like an excuse to call it a game, not a movie...

we're just a wish away :: 27th letter :: much maligned ::
beat me clever :: say you will :: nevermind :: open up :: open wide ::
bonedriven :: see we're taking all the life :: to all pollutants ::
shave your face :: we're all confusion :: we're all the rage ::
maybe i can't erase :: all that's left :: inside out ::
heaven knows who walks away :: heaven knows who walks ::
bonedriven :: bonedriven ::
i was wrong and i will wait :: i was wrong and i will i will wait ::
a thousand lamps :: won't lift the dark ::
rest of our lives :: might have already passed

I also want to write up a bit of a review on SSX Tricky, but I also didn't really know much about this game, but it's surprised me far beyond anything I could've expected. While the racing may be a bit less enjoyable than something like F-Zero GX, the tricks (which is the most heavily focused on part of the game) is amazing and addicted beyond belief. I also played a lot of Rainbow Six 3, which is worth talking about as well, because of the detail, the realism, the strategy, the stealth, when you're in the right mood it can be anything you ever wanted in an FPS... but if you're more into some action packed, shoot everything moving type adventure, throw in Return to Castle Wolfenstein. I played through it on PC, but the experience has been modified and is very much enjoyable on Xbox, with smoother graphics, better sound, additional levels, and more features (like co-op.. now if only I had someone to play with...).. and I also should mention a few things about Animcal Crossing... but alas, it seems it should be saved for another time.

Skies ripped open by the sun
Daylight comes but not soon enough
Speed down your track in search of you
Strapped to the back of what we do

Anaesthetize these troubled nerves
Over to you to make it work

Agents of change set headfires
I'd rather starve than fake alive
Lost to the cities of the night
Lost in the world to make it right

[Chorus]
Heartbreak
Heartbreaking
Novocaine won't help the pain
I'm out of control
I'm a hurricane
Head and heart are broken down
Out of control, I'm in a hurricane
Hurricane

Win some ground but I lose you
It's never explained how to make it through
No rope, no cash, no serpentine
All love buried on a bonfire

[Chorus]

Good to see you follow
Good to see you come again

[Chorus]

Miles of Water

All lyrics are written by Bush. I love Gavin.

you certainly have a knack for posting lyrics, and chosing ones which fit your situation perfectly. well, that's what it seems to me anyhow, if i'm deciphering them correctly. on another note, that entry layout was visually beautiful. love you<3
