The First Day
The first day of the year and something goes wrong! Sounds about right...
This morning my Xbox broke. It had been giving me a few problems in the last week or so, in that it wouldn't recognize that you were pressing the eject button unless you pressed it firmly and for a second or two (instead of just pressing it normally). This morning, it just... it basically thinks the eject button is being pressed constantly, so the tray just opens and closes, opens and closes forever. I had the idea of opening it and making sure the wires were attatched okay, but the screw driver bit you need to get in seems to be from another planet, so that didn't work out. In the afternoon I decided to turn it back on just for shits and giggles and I got a game in and it loaded, and I actually played for an hour or so, but then out of no where it just restarted my game, and then did the same thing.. on, off, on, off... and the most annoying thing is that the eject button is also the power button, so if I leave the Xbox plugged in, it cannot be turned off, so I have to leave it unplugged, which resets the system clock... ugh. So I'm not even going to try to get it to work anymore.
It seems like a stupid idea to spend money to buy a new Xbox, especially considering the Xbox 360 has been out for a year now, but I also don't want an Xbox 360 right now, and don't have the $449 to spend on it. The only other option would be taking it to a small electronics shop to see if they can fix it (since maybe all it needs is a new eject button) but they damn well better not charge more than $40 to fix it, or I'll be pissed off, because if I had the right tools I could easily do it myself.
So... today has been a bad day for me... I've been in a bad mood, it was dark out, I had pain in my bones from the rain... ugh. I still managed to get a few things done though. I took down the Christmas tree and put all the furniture back to where it's supposed to be, I cleaned off one shelf, I vacuumed, scooped the litter, did the dishes and just finished supper, so I guess I'm feeling a bit better now.
To compensate for my inability to play my Xbox for awhile, I'm downloading The Sims 2 for PC, and hopefully it works, and hopefully it's fun, so that I can stop feeling like crap and maybe feel good.
I'll let you all know how it goes!

They best be able to fix the xbox for cheap, or I'll have to fight them!
