The Release of Information

It's difficult to decide where to start and what to cover... to be honest I don't even remember what I've talked about and what I've left out over the last month. You'll have to forgive me if I repeat myself, but I'll try to make it interesting to read.

I suppose I can start with games, as it's usually the easiest thing for me to talk about. On a day to day basis, Michelle and I play Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution every night, and we play for almost an hour probably... it's a lot of fun. My best is Pai, then Jacky, then Goh. It's waaay too much fun. As for other games, I'm currently playing through Rainbow Six: Lockdown, both co-op with Michelle and single player (which are both the same story/level wise), Full Spectrum Warrior (squad based real time strategy), Pikmin (more than half way done), Evolution Worlds (more than half way done) and Jak II (just started). Two days ago I beat Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando (I'll be writing about that game later) and I enjoyed it so much that the next day instead of playing Jak II, I put R&C: GC back in and just started a new game+ because I couldn't get enough. When you start a new game+, you keep all your weapons and bolts, the enemies become more difficult, and you gain a few things. First, you gain a bolt multiplier (bolts are the money in the game, enemies drop them). When you kill an enemy or group of enemies, the multiplier goes up, if you get hit, the multiplier goes back down to 1. The maximum multiplier is 20. So if you're good, you can end up getting 10,000 bolts after a fight, and it just gets better and better as you get to later worlds. Secondly, originally each weapon had a basic form, then an upgraded form. In new game+, weapons have a third form (that you purchase) and then that can be upgraded to the fourth and final form. So so as you can see, the second time through theres even more for you to do than the first time, so it's really fun to play through it again.

Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention that I've been playing Morrowind. Yeah... I bought it for PC years ago (2003) and my laptop always ran it kinda choppy and my general distaste for PC games stopped me from playing it past the first quest. This time it runs like silk on my iMac, and I've put in quite a few hours and have really enjoyed it. It still has the downsides of a PC game (spend more time tweaking config files than actually playing) and the game seems unbalanced but it's fun exploring.

I think that's everything I've got for games.

I've run into a problem with Start internet. Our phone was cut off about a month ago, maybe a little more, and we got Start after that (as in, we've never had a phone when we had Start) but just two days ago Start stopped working, and when Michelle called and asked if it had anything to do with the phone line not working, they said yes, and as a result, we're going to have to pay an extra $10 a month to get the internet. At first I was rather upset about it, as $10 extra is $10 that we didn't have to pay a week ago, and for $10 more we could have a phone (if we didn't owe so much that is) or I could have Xbox Live, but I guess it's not that much money per month, and I guess it's worth it since I was pretty happy with Start. Still kind of annoying that it worked, then didn't work, and the solution is to pay them money.

Oh yeah and before I forget, I've installed a new message board (of the phpbb variety) to replace my home made one, as I wanted all the features but didn't want to write them myself (why reinvent the wheel m i rite?!?). It's a good place to talk about random things when you're bored, or at work, so... you're all welcome to go there if you want. It's essentially used as a means for Michelle and I to cummicate whiel she's at work since she can't use MSN and stuff, so we have a good morning thread, which is where we chat about nothing. Check it out: board.php

Lately I've been listening to Bright Eyes, and random old 1Up Yours podcasts for when I go to bed.

Is that it? I think that's it.
