Brush The Brice Away

Another day gone by, another entry to be written.

Work wasn't too bad today, having gotten ahead the day before, it made today completely free of pressure, which is key to having a good day at work. It was relaxed, no sense of urgency or stress, just time to do work, to stay organized and feel good.

I basically got to work, finished the picnic lunch that I had half done the day before, and then finished getting the BBQ ready that was happening later on. I also cooked pasta, and made a potato salad... lots of exciting things. I was off at 3pm, and I went and caught a bus.

Mark had landed in London and sent me a few texts while I was at work, so we arranged to meet up when I got downtown where I normally transfer busses. We went to Scott's Corner and split a pitcher of beer and talked about random stuff and just kinda got caught up on things a bit. After we finished our drinks, Mark met his Mom to go and hang out there for a bit, and I caught my bus home.

Once home, I made dinner, which was stuff I had bought the day before. Beef Tenderloin, with a portabello mushroom, mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was very good, very enjoyable, and I was starving, so that just made it even better. Almost immediately after eating, I got super tired, probably from the beer, and I just went and laid down, and fell asleep pretty instantly. I napped until about 8:00pm or so, felt so tired but got up and made coffee.

Ben called me shortly after I woke up, and we talked for a bit, and decided to play one of the games I've bought through this summer Steam sale, Magicka, a game which he had played a lot before, and I had never played really, so we started a new campaign and played for an hour or two, right up until my laptop overheated again and shut down, which I guess is understandable considering how hot it is in here and how long I played. I'm not so worried that my laptop is malfunctioning anymore, because I did play for a long time, and I heard the fan going, so I think it's just the heat that's doing it. Anyway, it was a lot of fun to play together and talk on vent, and I'm sure we'll do it more often soon.

After Magicka, and after letting my laptop cooldown (which took a surprisingly little amount of time), I played some FarCry, beating another level, and talked to Kyle a bit, had a bath, listened to a bit of the Morning Stream, and after my bath, decided to drink a glass of water and write this.

I've got the day off tomorrow, and I've got a Mark sleeping on the couch (well, technically he's awake but he will be sleeping on the couch), and tomorrow I'm going to Futureshop with Calen to buy a new router and possibly a wired xbox 360 controller to use with PC games, cause apparently wireless ones don't work. Also, may go for breakfast but depends on when this Futureshop stuff happens!

Oh yeah, and I bought Monday Night Combat, Civilization 5, STALKER: Clear Sky and Beat Hazard on today's Steam sale. Can't wait for tomorrow!

Wireless controllers do work, but you need the wireless adapter. Just go with the wired, cheaper and much less of a hassle. You actually have to disconnect the power to your Xbox every time you resync. Which can be a pain, if you happen to unplug the wireless USB adapter quite frequently.
