Sunglasses During The Day

Today was a day off. Yeah I guess I could just end it there but then that would be pretty boring no?

Last night I stayed up really late, even though I had taken a sleeping pill, I fought it and stayed up way later than I probably should have. I ended up playing Monday Night Combat with Kyle and Tom, which was a lot of fun, and it's a pretty good game. I think I could use some practice, but I wasn't doing terribly, especially considering I was like four hours into a sleeping pill.

I woke up late due to those activities, sleeping in until almost noon, being the last one to wake up out of Michelle, Mark and myself. We went for breakfast/brunch at Harry's Open Kitchen, and boy was that a nightmare, for me at least. I ordered what seemed like a decent breakfast, Harry's Omelette, which is a ham, mushroom and cheese omlette, with toast, potatoes and... vegetables, for some reason. I got coffee and a side of bacon with it as well. The omlette was really gross, the worst part being that it had fake cheese (like kraft singles or cheese whiz) and that made it so I couldn't eat it at all. The potatoes were poorly done, almost mashed into pieces and poorly fried on one side, and then the carrots, for some reason, were way overcooked, no seasoned or tossed in any butter, and were just disgusting. The entire meal was gross, and I would never go there again.

Afterward we went in Shopper's Drugmart, where Mark and I picked up some sunglasses, mouth wash and toothpaste. We then headed to No Frills and picked up a few things that I needed, basically just snack food, and some stuff for dinner, chicken breast.

We made our way home, where I sent a text to Calen and he came and picked up Mark and I and we drove to Best Buy, down near Whiteoaks. I had been needing a new router because my current one, an old netgear I've been using since 2006 or so, has been acting weird, dropping connections and just not working that great. I also wanted a wired 360 controller to use with all the new PC games I've recently purchased that play better with a controller (which is a surprisingly large number of them), so Calen offered me a ride, and I accepted. I ended up getting a good router, a Cisco/Linksys dual band wireless-n router, which offers very fast wireless connections, essentially just as fast as the wired connections would be, so that there is no longer a disadvantage to using wireless while in the livingroom.

After I got home, I played a bit of Far Cry, and Phantom Brave, and eventually made today's Steam Summer Sale purchases of King's Bounty pack (three games) and Left 4 Dead. I just hung out with Mark and talked and did whatever, eventually watching an episode of the Shield. Once it got closer to dinner time, I made grilled chicken breast with BBQ on two and a curry slop Mark likes on his, with mashed potatoes and asparagus and corn. Was pretty good, and I had a coffee and mars bar for dessert.

After dinner I played some Ratchet and Clank, longer than I normally do, making quite a bit of progress so that's cool. While playing, I did a load of laundry, and Mark and Michelle walked to Dairy Queen to get us all blizzards. Once they got home, I stopped playing and put on Evil Dead, which I'm currently still watching with Mark.

Tomorrow I've got work, but it shouldn't be the worst day in the world, typical Thursday BBQ... depending on how much prep was done today, which should've been a lot, it should be pretty easy, and then there is a dinner, so it should be a pretty decent day. I hope so at least, because I then have Friday off, so as long as I can get through the day I get the next one off. Should be a good day, I'll just keep telling myself that...
