Stability, Mental.

Today was an interesting day, I suppose. I did my best to stick to a structured routine, and the result was a pretty good, fairly relaxing day.

I woke up later than normal, 11am, which isn't much later than normal, but late enough that it kind of interferes with having both breakfast and lunch, since waking up that late kind of forces you to chose between one or the other. There was a possibility of going for breakfast with Julie, so I decided against making a great breakfast, and just had a pathetic, fairly terrible lunch of Chef Boyardee beef ravioli. I figured if I did end up going for breakfast, I would be hungry enough to eat something, and if we didn't, I could have a snack and all would be well.

I started the morning talking to Ally about our to-do list habits, and that prompted me to create one for the day, to give my day purpose and structure. I managed to get most of the list done fairly quickly; It took a couple of hours I guess, but I did take quite a bit of time going back to the computer, doing random things and then getting back up to do more. I did the standard things that I always do, doing the dishes, cleaning the litter, cleaning up around the place. Eventually I decided, after much debate, to go to the grocery store. I had wanted to avoid going to the store more than I needed to, so I could save money, but I discovered this morning that my loaf of bread had gone very moldy, and had to be thrown out, so in order to have breakfast tomorrow, I would need to go get some more, and I was also out of coffee filters, and we all know how important that was, so I went, and I picked up things I needed to make a tomato sauce, a package of lasagna noodles, a couple bags of chips for day off snacking and some bread.

Once home, I was done my list, so I was free to do as I pleased for the rest of the day, which was a combination of beating Defense Grid, and making a lasagna.

I put on some tomato sauce, as I needed to make some meat sauce for lasagna, and once that was done and blended, I cooked the ground beef, added the sauce and let it simmer for awhile. Afterward I mixed the cheese mixture I would be using for the cheese layers. It was ricotta cheese, cottage cheese, parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, garlic, oregano, basil and an egg white. I put together the lasagna, covered it in tinfoil and let it cook for around 30 minutes. I also prepared some garlic toast to eat with dinner, which went very well with the meal.

After dinner, I had a coffee with some chocolate, this is when I finished Defense Grid, a game I've been playing over the last couple weeks, and has been very fun. There are quite a few expansions for it that I could play through, but I've completed the main storyline. Defense Grid is a tower defense game, which means you have wave after wave of specific types of enemies, and you as the player build specific types of towers that take advantage of enemies weaknesses, as to stop them from reaching the other side of the map. Defense Grid was very well done... I played the entire game with an Xbox 360 controller, and it felt natural and perfect, and the levels didn't feel repetitive or boring, as they grew in difficulty at a good rate, and each new map (up until near the end) had a new tower or mechanic to learn. I'll probably continue on and play the expansions, and maybe even try setting better scores on the earlier levels, just because it's a game I've really been enjoying as a way to relax, as I can have it on while I watch TV, or just listen to a podcast while I play.

Eventually it was becoming night, so I got ready for a bath, turned on the Geekbox and had a nice relaxing bath. Afterward, I put on Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Obviously I had some popcorn as well, and set up the laptop out in the living room so I can write this and watch at the same time. Watching all the Harry Potter movies recently has me interested in obtaining the books that I don't have, because it's making me want to read them again. I'm only missing three books, so it probably wouldn't cost much to get the ones I'm missing, but I'm betting that the cost of all three seperately would be the same as a box set or something, but... I've got to watch what I'm spending, in a very serious way, so I may have to put that off for a bit (like a year or two).

Tomorrow has the possibilty of being really bad or really good... I work at 7am, until 3pm, and by all estimations, I should be able to actually leave on time. We have a gala, which is a very large complicated event, but it's at 1:30pm, which may not seem early, but it's pretty early considering what needs to be done on a daily basis, like just general prep, but I have a pretty good feeling about tomorrow, in that Julie and Tom are in to help get it ready, and it should all go smoothly, and I can leave on time, and I have another day off the day after, so... it'll be a lot of good stuff to look forward to.

Michelle is not home, as she's staying at Lindsay's for an unknown amount of time, so I have the place to myself, at least for tonight. I haven't talked to Lindsay in months, probably years... kinda weird. I always read back at random old entries and she was such a large part of my life and now just a memory.

I'll probably just finish the movie and head to bed, as I do have to wake up early tomorrow (around 6am) and I need to wake up... Here's hoping tomorrow is a good day!
