Static Dreams
Not sure how many times I can start writing the same way, but today turned into quite the terrible day, yet again, due to a headache and unimaginable discomfort.
Work went by fairly quickly today, which is a nice change, as usually the day seems long and there are mountains of work to do. I spent the morning getthing the Thursday BBQ ready, and setting up pasta bar, which lead into lunch service. For the most part I made 84 lemon blueberry creme brulee's, but I got called over to the cafe quite a few times which really cuts into my ability to do anything.
By the time lunch was over, I had just cooked the brulees, put on tomato sauce and did a few random things, and it was already 3pm and time to go.
I noticed on the bus ride home that I was getting a headache, and it's always impossible to tell right away how severe it's going to be, but after I got home it quickly became obvious it was a pretty bad headache. I had a quick snack, just some chips and a drink, and immediately went and laid down to sleep, listening to the Morning Stream.
I slept for a few hours and woke up in more pain then when I had originally laid down... that wasn't very nice. I got up and made spaghetti for dinner, even though it was 8:00pm, I knew I had to eat something. I watched an episode of Star Trek TNG with dinner, eventually leading into around 9pm, at which point I ran a bath. I made sure it was nice and hot, as going under really hot water can usually help my headache a bit.
After my bath, I put on a movie... The Box, a terrible excuse for a movie. Like... there are bad movies, but then there is The Box. I worked on some programming for a bit... just that script that extracts time stamp information from old data files. I've got it so it extracts the hour, minute, second and am or pm properly, so the last step is to update the current database with the new information.
Once I finished that, I wrote this... and yeah, it was pretty bad, I'll admit; This entry is terrible, and disjointed and poorly written, but whatever, what are you gonna do?
Tomorrow my shift was changed to be 10am to over dinner, so I get to sleep in slightly and work later, which is fine I guess... more work for me tomorrow, but in exchange my shift on Saturday was changed to 8am to 4pm, so less work for me on Saturday, and not a late night before Sunday, so I guess it's pretty good. It should be an okay day I guess... a lot of work, but nothing really stupid happening beyond a plated dinner.
That's all you get for now!
Ps: For some reason when I get bad headaches or migraines, my senses get super amplified and super sensitive and it's very uncomfortable. I don't even really know how to describe it. My sense of smell becomes very, very intense, like I opened the fridge and could just smell the strongest, most digusting smell and had no idea what it was, and now, feeling a bit better, I go back to the fridge and smell nothing. Also, I had a muffin for dessert and the taste, the after taste of it being in my mouth, it just almost made me throw up, it was so strong. I had to chew gum just to make it go away... these things drive me crazy. I wish that I would never get another headache.
I wish I had more to write, I wish I could just sit comfortably and write.
I listened to some music today that I hadn't listened to for years, A Static Lullaby's first album, an album I used to listen to back when I was in Fanshawe the first time, back when I was going through the toughest time of my life, so it brought up a lot of strange memories and feelings when it came on. But at the same time, it was nice. Nice to be transported back to a different time, to feel as though I had a different perspective. Music is a powerful thing... and then I put on Pinball Map and all was well.
