For The Widows In Paradise

I hate the feeling of jealousy, especially when I'm smart enough to know it's unwarranted, or know that it's stupid. Ah, fucked up emotions, screwed up minds.

A pretty brutal day today, I worked for thirteen hours, woke up, went to work, and now I've got home, and I'll be going to sleep.

I didn't get to sleep that early last night, which didn't really help me much today. I woke up at 6:30am or so, and got up, ate some toast, drank some coffee and got ready, and ran out the door to catch the bus for 7am. Obviously, the bus is on some random detour, so I had to get off pretty far from my normal stop, you know, just whatever LTC can do to be more annoying than the day before. There were two guys, Jon and Mike Kowasaki at work when I got there, and there were three breakfast events, but I asked and Jon told me they were all taken care of, so I just moved on and began work on everything else. It was a busy day for sure, we had three breakfasts, three lunches and two dinners, one being a wedding and one being a dinner buffet. Add to all of that the cafe service, and you have a busy day.

I started working on the lunches right away, making a bunch of sandwiches and cookies, eventually bowling salads and getting the bits and pieces together for the buffet... it went pretty smoothly really, I didn't have any issues, but with all that work to do, plus afternoon breaks, and then putting the food away as it came back, it really took awhile to get it all over and done with so we could start on the dinners.

The wedding had some hor's and reception fair that I did some of, and got Jon and Tom to do the rest, and I also got Jon to get the caesar prep out of the way (washing all that romaine sucks balls). The apps were caesar, the mains were stuffed chicken and striploin, and the dessert was white and dark chocolate mousse. I made the vegetable bundles, butters, mousse, and got the entire other dinner buffet ready (cold stuff at least). It didn't feel too rushed, but after working for that long you start to get kinda weird, or at least I do.. and I know Tom does too. We both worked like 13/14 hour shifts today, and we both started having too much fun/no fun at all near the end, where we kinda just say random things and then laugh, and then think for a second, then wonder where we are.

Julie gave me a ride home, and once home I did the few dishes I had, which was basically a bunch of bowls from eating chips, salad and Mr. Noodles, so it didn't take very long. I talked to my Mom for a bit too because it had been almost the whole week since I had, so it was nice to catch up a bit. Afterward, I set up in the living room, listened to a few live Sufjan Stevens tunes, and eventually turned on Jimmy Fallon, started writing... I'm pretty tired.

I have to work tomorrow at 7am, until 5pm hopefully, and then I need to do a bunch of homework, so hopefully I'm not deadly tired when I get home, or I may die. Oh, worth mentioning, I drank six cups of coffee today, which is a lot, and I feel pretty wired right now. Hopefully I will get tired and go to sleep soon, like... ideally.

I'm sure I will survive.. right? and I'm sure I will feel great.. soon.. maybe.
