Hope. Out There.

It's 1am and I feel like I just got home. I haven't done anything but bathe and play Ocarina of Time for a half an hour... Oh what a day... done and over with before it even began, kind of sad in a way.

I woke up at 8:15am, and I braved the cold to get up and put some coffee on, made some toast and got dressed... typical morning, I know... not much excitement to report on there. I did wuss out and decide to take a cab, mainly because I had left things too late, and felt as though I couldn't be entirely ready in time to catch the bus, so I figured I'd take some extra time and just cab to work, something I do probably too often, but oh well, that's what the tip money is for.

I started work at 10am and it was the normal festive lunch buffet... I started with just getting fruit and cheese done (with backups) and eventually ended up running between the two kitchens, as there were a few orders that I had to help with in the cafe, eventually ending up back over in the banquet kitchen after the majority of the lunch buffet was out, so I simply spent the afternoon making salads, something that I enjoy, or at least take pride in, so that's alright. I made asian noodle, dill potato salad, pasta salad, mushroom orzo, greek pasta... and that may be it. I didn't have the ingredients I needed to finish them all, so that's kind of disappointing.

Eventually Jon and I started to work on the plated dinner that we had for 38 people... it was just a turkey dinner. We eventually had it all ready, and plating took place at 7:00pm, everything was wrapped up by around 8:30pm, and we spent the last half an hour cleaning turkey's before wiping down and leaving. I left work at 9pm. I had to wait until 9:50pm at the hospital to catch the bus, and once downtown (by about 10:05pm), I had to wait 50 minutes more to catch thee next bus, so I waited around for a bit... went to McDonalds and ate some food, and continued to wait, eventually getting home around 11:15pm... yes, two and a quarter hours to get home from work... I wasn't thrilled. So that's my entire day, over before it began. I've done nothing beyond work... well....

I had a bath almost right away; I was cold but felt cheerful, even after the brutally long travel time... I still felt okay. I'm pretty tired but not to the point of discomfort. After my bath I listened to the Morning Stream and played some Zelda, eventually beating a dungeon and deciding to stop because I looked up and saw that the clock said 12:45am and it kind of shocked me. I haven't got to do anything today and it's already so late. I figured I'd get writing out of the way, and I might play Skyrim for a half hour before I go to sleep, or I could go to sleep right away and maybe wake up a bit earlier... I don't know. I guess I'm pretty tired, so we'll see what happens.

Tomorrow I was supposed to work but because I have an exam, I get to stay home and... you know... study, and go to my exam on time, so those are good things. I'm pretty confident about it... I'll study tomorrow with lunch and hopefully that'll be all I need to get a decent mark. Here's hoping I have a nice sleep, and continue my good mood.

I do have things I could write... Important things... things addressed to people; Feelings, thoughts... I have thoughts in my head that could be translated into words but I feel that now isn't the time. I seem to only be good at that when I'm on the edge and feel as though I've got nothing to lose.
