cause and effect

such a source of loss and pain
where you think only of your gain

I had to wake up extra early this morning, as I worked a 7am to 3pm shift, a shift that I used to work every day, Monday to Friday, but it's been awhile, a long while actually, since I've had to. To get there for 7am, I have to wake up around 5:15am, and catch the bus. I got up, had coffee, scrambled eggs and toast (not sure where that energy came from... well... maybe I do) and listened to music quietly as I ate breakfast and got ready for work. I caught the bus, and after a terribly stinky trip to work, I arrived at the wonderful Windermere Manor.

Going in having not worked this type of shit for a long ass time, I felt a bit uneasy about what to do, what order to do it in and how fast I'd do it. I figured I'd do well enough to get by, so I just started working right away... going in I had two picnic lunches and a lunch buffet to get ready, and there was little done for me, which was okay I suppose, and kind of expected. I finished both of the picnic lunches by 8:50am, and then started work on making the salads required for the buffet, as well as the desserts and other stuff necessary. Once I was finished with that stuff, I helped put out the rest of the hot food, and then help replenish the buffet.

After the lunch was over and things had calmed down, Jon and I decided to get the dinner for the next day all done and ready to go so that there wouldn't be much to do tomorrow. Jon made his mushroom soup (we kinda worked together on it, I guess). I cleaned out the line fridge and made some salads (greek, pasta and mushroom orzo), and this brought us to around 3pm, and Jon drove me home.

I can't continue.
