I usually don't post much news, even game related news, but over the past weekend there was the annual Game Developers Conference and there was a lot revealed and spoken of. Lots of known 'guys' in the industry spoke out about various topics and I thought that a few of them should be brought to your attention.

Legend of Zelda GCN - another video (the second) was released showing the breathtaking new installment headed for the Gamecube this coming Christmas season, and it looks as great as ever. When compared to any other Zelda games the graphics are like an explosion in your pants, but with the recent astounding graphical releases like Resident Evil 4, the graphics aren't as mind blowing as before, but still better than anything Link has dealt with thus far. Definitley check out Gamespys article and then watch the clip which was released at this years GDC.

Final Fantasy VII: Snowboarding - Another cell phone aimed spinoff of the monumental Final Fantasy VII, this is just a direct port of the snowboarding mini-game found in the golden saucer section of the game. Come on SquareEnix... what the fuck? *sigh* There's also a discussion thread on the topic, feel free to discuss this there.

Interview with Nobuo Uematsu - Well, he's one of my hero's, so naturally I enjoy reading anything about him, and although this was short, it was interesting to read. Worth a read if you've ever played a Final Fantasy, because this is the man responsible for the beautiful music, whether it be completely orchistrated or beeps and blips.

An interview with Keita Takahashi - A little lesser known than Uematsu, he is the creator of the game Katamari Damacy, and he discusses what inspired him to create the game, as well as various other topics about game design. It was interesting to hear such a creative man speak about such a creative area of work.

There are a ton of other things I could link, but it would just be easier for you to go over to Gamespy and take a look at their front page because it's full of features from the GDC, like specs on the next Xbox, other game developers, key note speaches from the president of Nintendo, key people in Microsoft and various other figures in the gaming industry.
