This is not for Critics

The majority of today I felt very badly inside... like I had this feeling in my gut that wouldn't go away; this feeling like something bad was going to happen, something that was going to really upset me. Thankfully my stomache was wrong and nothing bad happened, and actually, the night turned out to be highly enjoyable for many reasons.

I woke up early again this morning, much to my disappointment - but this has been happening consistently for awhile now: no matter what time I go to bed, I always end up waking up (and usually staying up) at around 9 or 10am and I don't really know why, especially since most of the time I didn't get enough sleep to actually be rested, feel rested, or stay awake for the whole day, or at least feel comfortably awake throughout it. Vanessa didn't come over until late today, so basically the day was spent waiting for her, and when I'm waiting for something, whether it be for someones arrival, an appointment, a phonecall (you get the idea) I usually can't do, concentrate or function properly for some reason. I spent most of the day playing SSX and a wee bit of Brothers in Arms, but mostly SSX, and when I couldn't play due to either sore legs from sitting, or from frustration or lack of the ability to concentrate, I watched The Office, and an episode of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. I recently got my 160gb external harddrive back from repair (thank god for warranties) and so after about a month of not being able to download anything, I've been on a downloading spree, some of which includes: the entire first season of The Office, as well as most of the second season (the rest of which is currently in progress), the latest episodes of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report (which I had missed due to not paying attention to the time), Groundhog Day, The Lion King, The Family Guy Movie, The Butterfly Effect, as well as working on getting two more seasons of Scrubs (one of the greatest comedies ever), Saw 2 DVD Screener (a DVD quality release of the currently-only-in-theatres movie) and a few other things. Basically, as you most likely have figured out, after not having been able to download things as I wanted them, I've gone somewhat insane in my attempt to aquire everything worthwhile available in torrent-ville, and I'm being very generously rewareded in that regard, as I have finally found some things I've been having trouble finding previously (specifically Groundhog Day and The Butterfly Effect, both of which I had a really hard time finding before). Bottom line is, it's very nice, and freeing to finally have my drive back, because now I can enjoy an endless amount of entertainment that's just a few clicks away.

Once Vanessa arrived, she brought in her stuff, said hello, and almost immediately went out to spend some time with a friend (which I didn't really mind... I had no problem watching the Family Guy movie). When she returned from being out, we spent what only seemed like a few minutes (but in reality took up almost two hours or so) wrapping her christmas gifts she had got for everyone. For some reason I was extremely content just watching her wrap and put bows on and stuff like that... I found it strangley comforting and enjoyable, so that.. was... enjoyable. Before we even realized it, Nick was home and it was 11:30pm and I had told Mark and Ann that we'd meet them at the bar around 12:00am for the dancing and the Collide giveaways. We all got ready and arrived at the bar around 12:30am, a little bit late but not enough that anyone really cared. The time at the bar was some of the most enjoyable time I've spent in the last long time. It was really nice to just casually hang out with a group of people without pressure or expectations, and I got to see Mark and I got to see Ann who I never get to see at all anymore, and she was in a great mood and lots of fun was had. Mark actually poured about a beer and a half all over Ann, over her head, down her shirt and everywhere... it was hilarious, especially since not only did Ann not get mad, she stood up and made it almost pornographicc (tastefully people!)... it was just really nice to smile and laugh almost constantly for a few hours. Everyone had a few drinks, we stayed till closing... I talked Cam into playing Alice in Videoland - Cut The Crap (which he became very enthusastic about I think) and then right after Steve played me I, Synthesist - Red Clouds (by request) and then later on in the night played me The Faint - Posed To Death, so musically, the night was very satisfying. Cam also mentioned that it's very possible that Alice in Videoland may be making a stop at Dissent in the near future, if they can get a couple more dates in Ontario soon, which is amazing, if not orgasmic news. After the bar closed, Vanessa, Nick and myself walked back to Coreys to visit him (he's Nicks close friend) and we hung out there for a bit, then all of us walked back to my place. Blah blah blah, stuff stuff stuff... we sat around, listened to Black Eyed Peas, etc etc, and eventually Corey took off, Vanessa decided to go to bed because she has to get up real early tomorrow, and Nick feel asleep on the couch (his bed!). I laid with Vanessa for about twenty minutes or so and we talked (and it was very nice if I do say so myself) and eventually I decided I needed to write because it had been awhile since anything meaninful has seaped through my fingers. Now here I am, just about finished writing this entry, and I feel much better.

I'm going to finish this up by clicking the add entry button, then throw on my headphones, and watch a few episodes of Season 2 of The Office, then head to bed, as I'm pretty tired, but I just need to unwind with some comforting Steve Carell.. .hehe. Goodnight everyone, and as always, please leave some comforting words, maybe reminding me that things will always work out if I follow my instincts. :) peace out dawgs.
