I'm All Out of Titles SRSLY
I've owned the Super Monkey Ball for years, it was one of the first games I picked up for my Gamecube back when I had first got it, and Emily and I picked up Super Monkey Ball 2 shortly after we had moved in together (because we saw 'Monkey Tennis' on the back of the case and decided to buy it based just on that) and while I don't obsess over the games, or even really think of them that much, it just sort of occurred to me the other day that Super Monkey Ball is one of the only games that I actually go back to and play on a frequent basis. A lot of games you simply play and then shelf, rarely going back to them once you've had your time with it (like a prostitute), but every few months I throw in Super Monkey Ball 2 to play around in challenge mode, or trick one of my friends into playing Monkey Tennis with me. It wasn't until last night when I really noticed how it's one of my most played games, and yet I've never really 'got into it' in the sense of dedicating time to actually get skilled at the game. I could easily complete the Beginner level (10 levels) but the farthest I had ever gotten in Advanced (30 levels) was level 13, and Expert had always just been a joke because it was so impossibly difficult. I kinda just sat down last night and decided that I was going to be good at the game, so I played for a long time, and learned the levels, and how you complete them, and now I can get through Advanced without losing a life! My recent dive into Super Monkey Ball has only further reinforced my intention of picking up Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz at the same time as a Wii, simply because I know that it will keep me entertained over an extremely long period of time.
I'm also super excited about SSX Blur that's coming out in March for the Wii, as the SSX games have also kept me entertained year after year with SSX Tricky first, and then the masterpiece that is SSX3, and most recently SSX On Tour which I picked up last year, and I'm still playing it to this day (it's friggin' challenging dammit). The games just capture me with their addictive trick systems, and I can't help but keep trying to get higher scores and more collectibles, so naturally I'm very excited about the next installment, and even more excited that it's coming to the Nintendo Wii.
Last night I couldn't sleep as I decided I didn't want to take a sleeping pill for some reason (who knows why, I just didn't wanna and you can't make me!) Of course as a result I was up all night, but I put the time to good use, playing Super Monkey Ball 2 all night, getting farther and farther in Story Mode, and then finally seeing how good I had become by playing through the Advanced challenge a few times, seeing how far I can get without losing a life. It was actually a lot of fun, and I can actually say I'm pretty decent at the game now... I'm still no match for the more expert levels, but I'm sure in time I'll get there, so I'm not in any hurry really. I played until around 7am or something, at which point I decided that I was insane for staying up all night rolling a ball with a monkey inside it around, and decided to try to wind down a little bit by spending time in my room instead, but I couldn't stop my mind from racing, and I just sat at the computer going from website to website, reading about things I can't afford, and getting even more worked up (excited) by reading about games and the such. So, with my mind all awake, but knowing that I had to get up in the afternoon to meet my Mom, I attempted to lay down, but it just didn't work. I watched old episodes of The Office, and had music on, but I couldn't fall asleep. It wasn't until around 12:30pm that I finally fell asleep, and it didn't seem like any time went by when the alarm went off at 3:00pm, in time for me to get up, get dressed and catch a bus to my Mom's work so that we can go to Value Mart together.
When I met my Mom, she gave me a big chunk of a banana bread she had made, as well as my sunglasses that I had left in the car months ago, and then we walked around the grocery store as I picked up a few things we had been seriously lacking (basically veggies... I needs me some nutrition yo). I had bought what I needed to buy, and my Mom and I parted ways (oh yeah, I gave her a DVD full of music too) and I waited for my bus, which took about twenty minutes to come.
Once home, I cleaned/changed the kitty litter, vacuumed up everything, emptied the vacuum cleaner and then threw out the garbage (to the dumpster obviously) and then took some time to breath, since I had been holding my breath for so long (cause poop stinks ya know). As I caught my breath (by reading message boards of course) I was hungry enough by this point (around 6:30pm) to finally make something to eat for the first time in the day, so I went to the kitchen and did what little dishes there were, and then prepared my yummy supper! For supper I had: Spaghetti (Vermicelli actually) with a plum tomato sauce, with mushrooms cooked in the tomatoes, a wee bit of shredded white old cheddar on top, and some pepper, two pieces of garlic bread with a tiny bit of shredded cheese, some raw halved mushrooms with ranch to dip in, boiled cauliflower and broccolis with a dash of pepper, and a nice glass of raspberry lemonade! Talk about yummers, no? It was very good, and nice and filling and I didn't feel hungry after like I usually do, because I always find that if I eat a fair number of veggies with my dinner, especially with a pasta, I finish feeling quite full and good, yet if I just eat spaghetti alone, I usually have this empty, hungry feeling shortly afterwards, if not right away. Of course for dessert, I had a warmed slice of my Mom's wonderful banana bread with a strong coffee, and watched an episode of Friends. I'd say it was a pretty enjoyable evening all around.
After supper I spent some time on the PA board and my forum with Michelle, and saw that the Mythbusters Holiday Special had been put up on EZTV, so I downloaded that, and eventually played a bit of SSX On Tour for a half hour or so, and once I was finished, I came back and sat down and watched the episode of Mythbusters, and it was quite the amusing episode (I laughed out loud quite a few times). Out of habit, I need to have a small bowl of chips and a Coke while watching Mythbusters (it just can't be avoided) and that's actually why I put off watching it and played SSX On Tour instead, so I could give myself some time to make room for the chips (since I was full from supper), so I enjoyed having a snack while watching it, not only because they taste good, but it's just so indescribably comforting. Tidus and Kairi were sleeping on my bed, so I sat in my chair instead as to not disturb them, as I know they would never disturb me while I was sleeping.
It's only been a little while since I finished watching Mythbusters, and I've only really read a few threads on the PA board, and ended up here writing an entry simply out of a combination of boredom and necessity (it had been a day or two), so that really brings us up to date as far as what I have been doing today.
For some reason when I was doing the dishes earlier I got the strange idea of making a small little survey type thing for my friends (basically for Ally, haha), with questions that normally don't appear on those retarded surveys that people (or we) take. I've got a few ideas for what questions I'd use, so I might write that up later on, it depends on how I'm feeling... I may just do it tomorrow. At least I know three people would do it, and that's including me, and that's probably enough to motivate me into doing it, so I'll... probably do it. Stop pressuring me!
Obviously since I didn't get much sleep last night/today, I'm pretty tired, but I could be more tired than I am (maybe the coffee I had woke me up, I dunno), so for the rest of the night, the plan is to play a bit of Super Monkey Ball 2 with Michelle when she gets home, and then watch an episode or two of America's Next Top Model (Cycle 4) and then finally go to sleep at an earlier time than normal (like 3am maybe). I enjoy having the night planned out... I loves me some structure.
I suppose that's it for now, so I guess I'll be going. Send me a message sometime... it'd be nice to hear from you.
