Not Bedtime?
Yes, it's late, in fact it's almost midnight, and yet here I am sitting at the computer, writing stuff, on a school night! Oh the nerve! Well let me explain before you look down upon me so.
I'm not going to school tomorrow. There, I said it. I know what you're thinking... you're thinking that this is the start of a terrible trend, and perhaps it is, but I think I've thought it through in a logical way and it makes sense to stay home tomorrow. Let me explain...
Tomorrow is a two hour school day... one class, programming fundamentals. I believe I am well ahead of every single thing this class will ever teach me, and the only reason I'd ever need to actually be in a class is to take quizzes, as you have to be in class to take them, however, we just had a quiz today, so we won't have another for two weeks, which means tomorrow can't be anything but lessons, which I don't really learn anything from anyway. So add that in with the fact that I spend more time on the bus going to and from school than actually at school, and it just seems like a waste of my time, considering I am so far ahead in that class. I got 100% on today's quiz for example... it's just not engaging for me. I'm still going to wake up and log in to the virtual classroom thing, just to be sure, but then I can go back to sleep right away.
I've been watching TV shows this fall, such as House, Bored to Death, Boardwalk Empire, Criminal Minds, SNL, 30 Rock, The Office... those are most of the shows that have started up again that I've been PVRing. I also "tape" Late Night with Jimmy Falon and the Daily Show and Colbert report daily and just save the last two episodes so I always have one to watch.
I've been listening to a lot of Mind in a Box lately, and just bought their latest non-canon album, which is a tribute to the 8-bit era of video game music, and contains songs which are based on games or inspired by them, and it's all kinds of cool. Those guys are geniuses.
In my free time this afternoon I started messing around with a little project that can keep track of my homework and how much time I have until it's due. I've had difficulty finding a reliable way to keep track of what I have to do and by what time, as I almost completely forgot an assignment yesterday a few hours before it was due and did it in the last second, so this way I can just load up the page and have an at-a-glance look at what I have coming up. It was fun, but also hurt the ol' brain a bit, as I'm using some complicated javascript that I've never worked with.
I guess that's about it for now. Guess I could throw in the fact that I've felt pretty sick today, not like coldish sick, but like something wrong with my stomach and body sick, and I ended up getting a headache that I managed to subdue with two tylenol and two advil cold and sinus. So.. that sucked... I was pretty uncomfortable at school at day because of it. Anyway... I'm gonna waste some more time before bedtime... night!
