Unbreakable

Today was a rather uneventful day, a somewhat typical day off for me, but a bit more uhhh... lethargic.

I woke up a in the middle of the night to a giant smashing sound, like glass breaking, and it startled me awake, not knowing what it was, but I instinctely just got up and turned on the bathroom light (as the sound came from the kitchen), so I could see. One of the cats, I think it was Kairi, but one of the cats had jumped on top of the fridge, and like a little retard, knocked one of their food bowls on to the floor, sending glass everywhere. I put on slippers and did my best to sweep it up, and then go back to bed.

I eventually got up at 9:30am or so, and made a few pieces of toast, new dark rye that I picked up the day earlier. Enjoyed a coffee with breakfast, and hung out on the computer for a bit.

At around 11am, my co-worker Matt came over to grab something and hung out for a few minutes, we just sat on the porch and talked about work while he had a smoke.

Pretty much the entire afternoon consisted of playing a few random games, and reading Harry Potter. I played a level or two of La Pucelle, and then played and completed Limbo (finally), and played Trine a bit before my laptop overheated and shut down.

For dinner I made a uhh.. mexican rice chicken.. thing. stuff. I've made it before. Basically, I just made a homemade salsa using some tomatoes, some onions, and the standard ingredients. I then grilled chicken, chopped it, and added it to some more onions, cooked it in the frying pan, added the salsa, spices, some siracha sauce for heat, added in a bunch of rice, and voila. I just served it with some broccoli, and it was a decent dinner, although a bit spicey. I probably would add less heat next time, but it's hard to measure that.

After dinner, I watched quite the storm brew and eventually arrive by 8:30pm, with constant lightning and huge wind, it was quite the show to watch. I had a bath, and eventually put on Unbreakable on bluray, and now I'm writing.

I've got work tomorrow, a standard shift, 7 to 3, so it should be okay. Julie isn't in, so I dunno... we'll see how it goes.
