Incredible
Today was an eventful day, a mid-term, a long shift at work, and no time to myself or time at home. I should be mad or depressed or something, but in reality I'm just tired, and I kinda wish I had time to play a game, or watch something, or read my book, but I don't... I have to open tomorrow at 7am, so even if I went to bed right now, I'd still only get six hours sleep, and every minute I spend sitting here writing is one less minute of sleep, so I really should make this quick.
Mid-terms are fun, and today I had a mostly practical DirectX midterm. I wasn't sure how easy it was going to be, and I'd say it fell into the medium to medium-easy category. There was one written answer (short) and then five practical significant assignments we had to do. Add a different shader to a project and get it working, and then allow the user to modify a special constant buffer value to manipulate the shader through keyboard input. Another was adding ten objects to the world, arranged in a diagonal line, moving away from the camera. One was involving a free moving camera, and another a free moving spotlight. It did take awhile, but I felt quite confident with everything, so I think I did really well, an A for sure, somewhere between 80% and 100%.
After the mid-term, Calen, Mathew and I went to Pizza Hut for lunch, and I had a Canadian calzone, which was pretty good, and really filling. I needed food before heading to work, and that's just what I did after we were done.
Work was pretty crazy busy today, and the time did go by pretty quickly, but it was too busy and disorganized for my liking. There was an event for 90 down the hill and a gala for 120 in the grand hall, and I had to do all the satays and mashed potato toppings and carve. A lot of running around, feeling disoriented, and trying to clean up. I worked until 10:45pm, and got a ride home.
When I got home, I had a bath right away to try and relax, and now I'm in here writing and watching Mythbusters, but it's late, and I know I should go to sleep, but I'm not even tired. Bekki won't be home until after I'm asleep (she's at work) and so I guess I should just go lay down and go to sleep.
I work tomorrow and then I may be meeting Mark for a drink in the afternoon, and then I need to work on a GUI project for school. I open again Sunday, and then a normal week, except mid-term on Tuesday, work on Wednesday and then the weekend.
I have way more to write, but... I shouldn't.
