Graduation
There is quite a few things going on lately, and as it always seems to be the case, it can feel a bit overwhelming, the amount going on, the things we have to do, the stuff that's on our minds. Today was a good day, for many different reasons, but one of those reasons is that a lot was accomplished, and that list of things - those things swimming around in my head - was reduced significantly, and I'm finally starting to let myself get excited for change.
What to talk about first? There is so much going on, and I don't remember what I've talked about, or even when the last time it was that I sat down and wrote anything of meaning, so I'll just start somewhere.
Today was Bekki's graduation convocation, in which she got to walk across the stage with her name called, kneel and get her hood put on, and pick up her diploma. Her Dad and myself sat close to the stage and waited patiently for her turn across the stage... it was awesome. I've never felt so proud of anyone, and she looked so beautiful, and I just felt warm and happy to be there with her, and felt so happy to think about the future. It was a great experience, and we went out for dinner afterwards to celebrate. I posted some pictures of her on Facebook from when she was in her full gown outfit and stuff, so go check those out.
Secondly, I'm not entirely sure what I've mentioned so far as moving, but we got approved and accepted as new tenants at a new townhouse, on Osgoode Dr. It's a three floor (main floor, upstairs and basement) townhouse with only neighbours on one side. It's got a decent sized dining room, smallish kitchen (but approx the same as the one now), a large living room with nice laminate floors, a fenced backyard with patio and some grass, an unfinished basement with washer and dryer. It's got the upstairs with a master bedroom that is larger than our current to fit our new king bed (but not too much bigger so space will still be a challenge in there) a nicer bathroom with a wide sink, more room to move around (YES) and a tub, a second bedroom to use as a computer/school room, and a third bedroom that we're planning on using as a library, but will build it over time.
I've done all of the budgeting, and for now I'm very confident with our finances, we've got a lot of the work out of the way to actually get the keys, so now we just need to pack and do the rest of the stuff that goes along with that.
I work tomorrow at 7am, so I better go to bed! Just finishing an episode of Doctor Who and to sleep I go!
