Filled Up With Doubt

Today was the exact opposite of what it should've been. Today should've been an easy, thoughtless, relaxed day with no stress and no trouble. Today was a nightmare, today was roadblock after roadblock of annoying fucking bullshit that kept making the day less and less enjoyable.

A Sunday at Windermere is typically the same, the only variable is the number of customers, and today was supposed to be a pretty slow day, with enough done the day before, and enough people in to help me, that getting brunch out would've been a thoughtless walk in the park.

When I came in to work, I found the main walk-in fridge was broken. As far as putting brunch out went, this didn't really impact it in anyway, I just had to put out different cakes (ones that didn't have cream in them) and re-do some cheese platters.

The main annoyance came after brunch was out, in that we, or... I, had to go through the entire fridge, throw out stuff, wash stuff, put it back in, and since we had to throw out a bunch of desserts, I had to make some, specifically creme brulee and bread pudding. Now, why this was annoying, beyond the obvious reasons, it stopped me from a) doing prep that I wanted to do b) having a relaxing, slow day and c) both a and b.

Anyway, yeah, work was stupid, we lost a lot of money, but everything went well with service.

It took forever to get home, Sunday busses and all, I made it downtown and saw a Windermere manor billboard being towed by some douche on a bike, and had to laugh to myself, and I snagged a quick picture of it, and put it on facebook. I posted it as sarcasm, but only a few people would get it haha.

I had to wait downtown for the Southcrest for 30 minutes, so I opted to go to McDonalds, less for the food, more for the sitting down. After some time went by, I caught the bus and made my way home.

Once home I checked out the steam sale immediately, and picked up a few more games. Tropico 3 plus the expansion, Torchlight and Defense Grid. Good games, that I'm excited to try out eventually. I played some more Far Cry, making my way through another level, and then played a bit of Phantom Brave, also making progress. Afterward, I watched The Shield, and eventually ran a bath, took a pill, and here I am.

I'm writing this, watching True Blood, and getting tired. I'll be going to bed after this episode for sure...

I've got to work tomorrow, 7-3, so, even though I almost always have Mondays off, I've got to get up and go to work... I don't actually have a day off until Wednesday, so I guess I just have to let that go. Tomorrow should be an easy day, a relaxing day... but look what happened today. Here's hoping...
