You Know What To Do
Today was a good day off I suppose; A lazy day with a tiny bit of housework, a couple good meals, and some games and programming... can't really go wrong with that combination, so all in all I guess it's an ideal day off of work.
When I woke up, I wanted to make a nice breakfast, as I had bought the stuff I needed the day before, more eggs, bacon and breakfast potatoes. I woke up pretty late, later than normal, and later than I had realized it was, but I think the combination of the double dose of sleeping pill the day before, plus the one I took late last night, plus just my natural tiredness added up to a long ass sleep. I woke up at around 11:30am I think, which is over an hour later than I normally get up on days off.
I made poached eggs, which were perfectly cooked by the way, bacon, which I got tired of waiting for a deep fried near the end. Potato patties, deep fried, with ketchup to dip them in, and the eggs were on rye toast, and it was delicious. I posted pictures of the meal on the facedbook. Naturally, I drank coffee with breakfast, and watched The Shield.
Throughout the day, I alternated between working on formatting Pandemic's guild website, playing games (FarCry, Final Fantasy IV, Plants vs. Zombies) and watching episodes of The Shield. I did a load of laundry during the afternoon, as the pile was getting full, and I just worked on stuff on the computer while it ran.
I had pulled a rack of lamb from the freezer to the fridge yesterday, as it's been in the freezer for quite awhile now, and lamb is one of the best meals in the world, so I figured, or at least hoped, that I would be in a good enough mood to cook a real meal today, and as it turned out, I was. I cooked the lamb medium, because when I pulled it out the first time it was blue rare, and I just wanted it to be medium rare, so I threw it back in, but waited just a minute too late. I had mashed potatoes, brocolli and baby carrots, and I made my awesome red wine sauce for dipping the lamb in, which was just red wine, some water, salt and pepper, thyme and shallots, made in the pan that I used to sear the lamb. I posted a picture of this meal on facebook too.
The evening was spent doing the same things I did during the day, so not much to add there. I ran a bath, took a sleeping pill, and went to watch Jimmy, but it hasn't recorded the last two days, so that's disappointing. I put on the Shield instead, and wrote this.
I've got work tomorrow, no idea what's happening at work, other than the normal BBQ crap. Hopefully it's not a stressful day, and I can come home and relax. I'm off Friday, so at least I can look forward to that all day.
