The Fantasy
I've been playing Final Fantasy XIV lately, as I found myself drawn to the gameplay of an MMO, and since it's kind of a downtime in World of Warcraft, I thought giving Final Fantasy XIV another shot was a good idea. As a side-effect, I also got Ally playing, and then Bekki playing, and then Kurt playing. I may have created a monster, now that Bekki plays the game more than I do, and I can see the concepts of the MMO are starting to sink in to her. She understands how to min/max dps and how to recognize bad players.
What I'd really like is this to act as an introduction to World of Warcraft, and when the next expansion comes out, I'd love for her to move over to playing WoW instead (or maybe both). As good as Final Fantasy XIV is, it has taken everything from WoW. Every single good thing about FFXIV is directly lifted from WoW, and I just enjoy WoW's lore, story, characters, settings, etc more than Final Fantasy.
I will write more about the game itself, but I just wanted to mention how much Bekki has been playing it, and how much fun it is to share that interest.
I felt really anxious today and for some reason I thought baking was a good idea. I started with making my protein muffins, which lead into banana bread, and finally made ginger snaps. The banana bread had an extra banana in it, so it's very heavy on the banana chunks, which is kind of different, but still good. For the ginger snaps, I really wanted them to be healthier, so I used half fat margerine instead of vegetable shortening, and they're not really the same at all. They're soft and mushy, not cakey or crispy. I wouldn't do it again.
We're watching Portlandia right now and I'm eating healthy popcorn. Oh, speaking of healthy, I really need to write about my recent health stuff, specifically losing more than 20 pounds, but that's a story for another night.
