Excessive

Jensen started his first day of summer camp today. It's over at the school, and he's got people he knows there. He wasn't too nervous, but he had a bit of a rougher day than normal. He apparently has a case of hand foot mouth, as he has blisters/rash all over his arm and leg. It's itchy and bothering him. As a precaution, we put bandaids over almost all of them on his arm, and Bekki gave him some Benedryl, which she probably shouldn't have, but what happened happened. It can cause severe drowisness and disorientation, so I was pretty worried he was going to ... fall asleep, get confused, get scared cause he felt high, among other things. It all seemed to go okay, his teacher reported that he almost fell asleep in his chair but eventually came around and snapped out of it.

I think that we, as in people, spend the majority of their lives chasing after the things they once had. Feelings, people, hobbies, habits... we remember things more fondly (sometimes) and try everything to get back to 'the good times'. I always think about writing and how I can never do it, or never choose to do it, and I think about how great it would be if I could just remember to do it, or make time to do it. Then I think... maybe I just don't need it anymore, maybe I've outgrown it, or don't require it to feel okay, or whatever the reason may be, maybe life wouldn't be so much greater if I wrote more, or replayed old games to recapture that feeling of magic, maybe the magic isn't there anymore... maybe it is though! I don't know what I'm trying to say. I thought a bit today about the feelings I got playing games in the past, and how I don't feel it as often anymore, or rarely, or ever, and I wish I could feel that again, and how could I go about doing that... but maybe that's just gone.

Today turned out to be a pretty good day, generally, and it was a refreshing change of pace.

The day didn't start off to well, I slept in and had to take a cab to work, this being the second time or maybe third this work week, which is costing me a lot (close to $60). I knew going in to work that the day had potention to be relaxing and a good day, and it actually turned out to be that way.

Today was actually pretty relaxing and nice, which hasn't really been happening lately. I slept in late enough to not be insane, I had stuff to eat, I got a bunch of new music (both Black Mages albums, a few discogs... Journey's Greatest Hits, Aqua, some Zero 7 I didn't have, and more. I also played a good amount of Tales of Symphonia with Michelle which I had been wanting to do, and I also watched a good two episodes of Highlander.

Breaking news this morning: The internet is boring!

There is to be a Lost party taking place Thursday, July 6th, at 11pm, at my place. The reason for the late start is due to Linzie's working hours.
