I don't even know how to start these anymore. It's been awhile...

We're trying to buy a house. It's a very tiring, and upsetting experience, not a very fun or jouyous occasion like you would believe, but instead, it gives everyone around you the chance to let you know how ill-prepared you are for what's to come, how no matter what, you will lose your house and end up dead because there's no way you could ever plan or use logical risk assessement as effectively as them.

I bought a couple of fitbit flex for Bekki and I as a present. I wanted to surprise Bekki with something that help with her fitness goal, and I was interested in the stat tracking part of it, so I got two. It was a pretty expensive move, but whatever, I think I'll enjoy it, especially the sleep tracking.

I have good days and I have bad; today was a mix of those. This weekend was a fairly relaxing weekend, as they have been recently thanks to my new job and new outlook on life. I really do feel as if I've entered a new phase of adult life now, and it's interesting. A small shift in circumstance can cause large shifts in perspective.

There is something most certainly wrong with my brain; I've not been able to feel much of anything recently. Well, the more I think about it, the longer it seems. I have a difficult time getting excited about things, or just happy, and at the same time I have no issues becoming severely upset about random stupid crap that doesn't matter.

I've been writing with pen and paper, so I'm still writing, even though I don't get to this page very often. For me, it accomplishes the same goal, and I think it helps me. The only downside is spreading the writing out across multiple platforms.

The Beginning of The End of The Beginning

My birthday is over and it was a mixed day, but Bekki made it great for me, and I couldn't really ask for more.

The first half of the day was quite terrible. I suppose this will be my last entry about Windermere, and it's too bad it has to be a negative one, as they so often seem to be. I was scheduled alone and shouldn't have been. I had 82 hotel guests to feed in the hotel, most of which ordered hot food off the menu, which meant for the most part I was stuck on the line cooking food. The buffer portion of the breakfast ran out but there was no one to prep the food or do anything, so I ran out of nearly everything, and had no way of making more while cooking orders. I also had a banquet hot breakfast, that required me to make pancakes (time consuming), as well as meat, scrambled eggs, home fries, and so on, which went out in the middle of the busy cafe time, so that was fun. I was also responsible for making all of the sandwiches for the CVG, warming a soup, chili, and making salads, which is extremely time consuming. Another responsibilty was to set up the pasta bar and warm the sauces. On top of those things, I also had a lunch at 11:20am for 40 people, which had a lot left to do for it. I could maybe do two or three of those things successfully, not all seven hundred. I text Shawn to come in earlier, but the damage was already done. Our lunch went out late, the pasta bar went out late, the CVG stuff went down late, the Sysco order sat out forever and the produce order didn't get put away until after 12pm.
